Tim Hudak

My career in the mechanical insulation industry began at just 14 years old, working weekends and summers while attending high school. By 18, I was already leading full-scale projects, and shortly thereafter, I advanced into a Superintendent role. Those early years provided invaluable hands-on experience in managing crews, overseeing multiple projects, and developing the leadership skills that would shape my career.

In 1987, my brother and I founded Hudak Insulation, laying the foundation for what would become a diverse group of construction companies. As our business grew, we expanded into Hudak Asbestos Removal, Inc. in 1990, Hudak Construction Services in 1992, and Hudak Site Utilities in 1997. Over the next two decades, we built a reputation for operational excellence, quality workmanship, and the ability to deliver complex industrial and commercial projects.

In 2007, differing visions for the future led the companies in separate directions. Hudak Insulation became independent and relocated, followed by the establishment of Hudak Mechanical Insulation in 2008. In 2010, we reorganized under The Hudak Companies, bringing mechanical insulation, asbestos removal, and construction services together under one umbrella. The business continued to grow until 2016, when we successfully merged with another major firm, forming a partnership that continued for several years.

After decades of building businesses, developing teams, and establishing lasting industry relationships, it was time to return to our roots and begin a new chapter.

In 2024, we founded Timothy James Construction (TJC) & Timothy James Insulation (TJI). TJC serves as the management and operations hub, bringing our companies together under a unified vision, while TJI continue to provide specialized services to clients, many of whom we have proudly served for decades.

Throughout my career, I’ve learned that success in this industry is about much more than completing projects. It’s about building strong teams, earning the trust of clients, maintaining high standards, and standing behind every commitment. After decades in the business, I’ve encountered nearly every challenge the industry can present, and that experience has taught me how to adapt, find solutions, and keep moving forward.

I’m proud of the businesses we’ve built, the relationships we’ve maintained, and the legacy we’re continuing to develop. Our goal is not simply to build on our past, but to use that experience to create something even stronger for the future.
